Europe
Growing up, Europe was the place of dreams. When I was a kid, the exotic beaches of France were just a ferry ride away. I still remember my dad packing and repacking the car, a grown-up version of Tetris I couldn’t wait to take part in.
My mum transformed before my eyes into a woman who spoke fluent French, merging with the locals as though this was her place. Not the dull, familiar streets of Surrey.
My itchy feet took me to the other side of the world, but the pine-scented campsites of the South of France, the cobbled piazzas of Italy, and the ancient cultures of Europe never quite let me go.
This is the place I return to again and again. The place that whispers to my soul. Home.
